Modernization of BRDM - 2 vehicles  realized by Military Mechanical Works is an excellent example of adapting at the stage of deep modernization of the equipment for contemporary requirements of the battlefield as well as the realization of tasks as part of peace keeping missions.

Worthy of notice that the renovation and the modernization caused  a full compatibility of the vehicle and its systems (communication, weaponry, recognizing) in frames of structures NATO.

Scope of the modernization of the BRDM vehicle   2:

•  installation of the high-pressure IVECO AIFO engine with direct injection, turbo - with charging and the radiator of air charging,
• increasing the internal space of the body as a result of removing additional wheels for defeating trenches,
• making side hatches increasing battle advantages and the safety of crew members,
• installation of new seats for the crew,
• installation of the modern heater for crew and engine,
• installation of the automatic steering unit of water pumps,
